GSR Report:
Rafael reported that the General Services Assembly, held on August 21-23, 2026, at the University of Chiriqui, was a success. The fundraising efforts collected $1,386, and $1,186 was sent to Panama City.
Old Business:
The WhatsApp group suggestion for posting EDANB information was combined with the AA Boquete website discussion in New Business.
New Business:
AA Boquete Website:
Suggestion of posting information on the AA website was discussed, combined with the continuing need for a new website administrator. After discussion, it was decided that Sylvia would contact Austin in order to gain administrative access to the website. Sylvia will train another volunteer on how to revise meetings/times (if needed) and how to upload business information to the Members’ area of the website. These steps are being taken so that we don’t rely on one person to maintain the website and necessary access is available.
Terry will also make the next annual credit card payment to GoDaddy for the website domain, and will put his name as the responsible party. The next payment is due in November. Terry will contact Austin in order to accomplish this.
The group will need to create an email address to put on the website for anyone wishing to contact AA Boquete. This email will be monitored by 1 or 2 people.
The above resolutions were voted upon and passed.
Spanish AA Meeting:
It was confirmed that the Thursday AA Spanish meeting is now a part of EDANB.
AA Boquete Commemorative Coin:
After discussion, it was voted that the suggestion of a commemorative coin was not desired by EDANB.
Other New Business:
AA/Alano Rent: Lee reported that the monthly rent (paid by Alano Club) has been raised from $325 to $450. The raise in rent charged to the meetings that use the Club has not yet been determined. It will be discussed at the next Alano Club Business Meeting, to be held on October 12, 2026.
Court-ordered attendance: Greg asked the location of forms for court-ordered attendees to receive, proving their attendance at an AA meeting. Lee explained that they were in the blue notebook that meeting leaders use to conduct meetings. The exact location within the notebook varies, due to people moving pages around. Look in the pockets, as well as on the binder rings.
Supplies: Lee mentioned we still need someone to shop for supplies. Rafael has volunteered to handle the supplies.
Group Inventory: Lilly read an email from James S. (who is currently out of the country) regarding group inventories. This item will be put on the Agenda for the next EDANB Business Meeting.
Close with the Responsibility Statement:
“I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that I am responsible.”
Next meeting: November 4, 2026
